Ian was born in southern New Mexico but has lived in El Paso, Texas for half of his life and considers himself a New Mexican Texan.

He is a recent graduate from the University of Texas at El Paso where he earned a Bachelor's Degree in Theatre with a concentration in Sound Design and a minor in Computer Science.

Ian has been composing music since middle school and designing sound as composing music for theatre since high school. He has been designed and composed at University of Texas at El Paso as well as for local independent film projects. He has been working with audio equipment since he began composing and has recorded for film, music, and theatre purposes. He has also set up and operated live sound, lighting and video equipment for theatre and opera shows. Ian has designed sound for seven stage shows, five radio shows, and three dance shows at the university level in addition to assisting in various others.

He has also assisted with lighting and electrician work at the university for three years and have become familiar with a variety of lighting instruments and consoles. He has also designed lighting for three dance pieces at the university.

​

He has plans to attend graduate school in the next few years to hone his skills as a designer, composer, and technician.
